Bishop Kelley High School is proud to recognize Taylor Davenport and Alex Aldrette as our September 2026 Girl and Boy of the Month! Selected by their fellow students, these outstanding Comets exemplify the spirit of Bishop Kelley through their leadership, involvement, and commitment to our school community.

September Girl of the Month: Taylor Davenport

Taylor Davenport has made the most of her Bishop Kelley experience through leadership, athletics, service, and a passion for helping others.

As Student Council President, Taylor is actively involved in Campus Ministry, Link Crew, Comet Ambassadors, Class Board, and Serva Fidem. She also competes in Varsity Girls Soccer and Cross Country. Outside of school, Taylor participates in Christ the King Youth Group and National Charity League.

Taylor attended Saint Pius X before choosing Bishop Kelley for its emphasis on preparing students for life beyond high school and stellar athletic opportunities. Her favorite things about BK are the athletics and the school community, and she encourages younger Comets to take advantage of every opportunity to get involved.

"Get involved in as much as you can and try to go to everything," she said.

After graduation, Taylor hopes to pursue a career in the medical field. While she has not yet decided where she will attend college, she looks forward to making new friends and creating new memories. Her ultimate goal is to help people who cannot help themselves.

When she isn't busy with school activities, Taylor enjoys spending time with her friends. Her favorite class is AP Language with Mrs. Zigler, her favorite book is The Outsiders, and her favorite Jarboe Hall lunch is the pasta bowl.

Taylor's favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding."

September Boy of the Month: Alex Aldrette

Between football, soccer, academics, and extracurricular activities, Alex Aldrette stays busy making the most of his time at Bishop Kelley.

Alex is involved in Varsity Football, Soccer, and Investment Club. Outside of school, he plays club soccer and considers himself a Pokémon Go expert.

Alex attended St. Mary's before coming to Bishop Kelley, where he has found plenty to enjoy, especially the food! His favorite thing about BK is lunch, and he gives a special shoutout to Chef Tyler and the legendary calzones in Jarboe Hall.

For younger Comets, Alex offers a practical piece of advice: "Do your homework before it's actually due."

After graduation, Alex plans to study engineering at the University of Arkansas. He's looking forward to the independence of college life, particularly not having a bedtime!

With sports and homework keeping his schedule full, Alex jokes that free time is hard to come by. His favorite class is AP Calculus, his favorite book is the Bible, and his favorite scripture is Hebrews 10:39.

Alex also considers himself the Dragon Warrior, bringing a sense of humor to everything he does.

Fun fact: Alex's sister Avery '23 was our August 2023 Girl of the Month!
