Bishop Kelley High School is proud to recognize Lucy Oliver and Lars Frette as our October 2026 Girl and Boy of the Month! Selected by their fellow students, these outstanding Comets exemplify the spirit of Bishop Kelley through their leadership, involvement, and commitment to our school community.

October Girl of the Month: Lucy Oliver

Lucy Oliver has embraced her Bishop Kelley experience through leadership, service, athletics, and a commitment to building meaningful connections with others.

Lucy is a four-year Class Board member and participates in Student Council, Girls Cross Country, NTLC, National Honor Society, and Bible Crafting Club. She also volunteers at the food bank. Outside of school, Lucy takes dance classes and teaches dance at Miss Shelly's School of Dance.

Lucy attended the School of Saint Mary before choosing Bishop Kelley, following in the footsteps of her older brother and other family members. Her favorite thing about BK is the lasting sense of community and support she has experienced throughout her four years.

"I always feel welcome and supported even when I am not actively at BK," she said. "The community that you are surrounded by never leaves you and they only want the best for you."

Lucy encourages younger Comets to attend school events, step outside their comfort zones, and make an effort to meet new people. "Being outgoing and kind is something that makes high school more fun because you are able to meet so many new people that you usually would not meet," she said.

After graduation, Lucy plans to study business and is considering Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas. She looks forward to meeting new people, achieving her goals, and building connections as she begins her next chapter. Her ultimate goal is to find a career that brings happiness to herself and others while building a fulfilling life for her future family.

October Boy of the Month: Lars Frette

For Lars Frette, Bishop Kelley is more than a school. It's a family tradition spanning three generations and a place where he has made lasting friendships and memories.

Lars attended Saint Pius X before coming to Bishop Kelley, where he has played football for four years and participated in Grill Club. His favorite part of BK is the friendships he has built and the energy his classmates bring to school and football games.

Outside of school, Lars enjoys hunting, cooking, working out, and spending time with friends.

Lars encourages younger Comets to believe in themselves, have fun, and appreciate their time at Bishop Kelley. "Enjoy it cause it will go fast," he said.

After graduation, Lars hopes to continue playing football at the collegiate level before pursuing a career working on a large ranch. He's especially excited about meeting new people, exploring new opportunities, and seeing what life has in store.

His approach to life is simple: work hard, have fun, and make the most of every opportunity.
