Claire Anderson & Sebastian Quiroz

Bishop Kelley High School is proud to recognize Claire Anderson and Sebastian Quiroz as our August 2026 Girl and Boy of the Month! Selected by their fellow students, these outstanding Comets exemplify the spirit of Bishop Kelley through their leadership, involvement, and commitment to our school community.

August Girl of the Month: Claire Anderson

An active member of the Bishop Kelley community, Claire is involved in Spirit Squad, Campus Ministry Leadership Team, Sirve Fidem, National Honor Society, Link Crew, and NTLC. Outside of Bishop Kelley, she works a part-time job and enjoys watching movies in her free time.

Claire, who attended St. Pius X before coming to Bishop Kelley, followed in the footsteps of her three older siblings. She was drawn to BK's faith community and the supportive environment she found on campus.

"The people here are the best, and everyone is rooting for you to succeed," she said.

Her favorite thing about Bishop Kelley is the sense of community and the opportunities available to students. She appreciates that everyone can find something they love and encourages younger Comets not to compare themselves to those around them.

Claire's favorite class is Chemistry, and she hopes to pursue a degree in engineering after graduation. She looks forward to meeting new people and experiencing greater independence in college.

Favorite Scripture: "...Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" Mark 9:24

August Boy of the Month: Sebastian Quiroz

Sebastian Quiroz has made the most of his Bishop Kelley experience through leadership, athletics, service, and a genuine enthusiasm for connecting with others. Recently he was one of the students who was featured in Steve Hartman's One the Road segment. His mom Sandi was also on the Mom Panel!

He serves as Student Council Vice President, a Link Crew Leader, Comet Ambassador, Cross Country Captain, Track Captain, and Class Board Officer. He is also involved in National Honor Society, NTLC, Campus Ministry, and Men of Faith.

Beyond campus, Sebastian gives his time to the Little Light House Youth Advisory Board, Glenpool Christmas Shoppe, and Dame un Abrazo.

For Sebastian, the people are what make Bishop Kelley special.

"The community is what puts a smile on my face every time I walk into Bishop Kelley," he said. "Bishop Kelley students are never afraid to welcome unfamiliar faces into their groups, and that welcoming spirit is exactly what makes BK so great."

Sebastian attended Kiefer Middle School before choosing Bishop Kelley for its academic opportunities, athletic programs, and Catholic faith formation. Looking back, he considers his decision to attend BK one of the best he has made, particularly because of the friendships and connections he has formed.

His advice to underclassmen is to get involved in clubs, sports, and student organizations. He believes stepping outside your comfort zone is one of the best ways to meet new people and build lasting friendships.

After graduation, Sebastian plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in kinesiology or psychology. He looks forward to meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their life experiences. His ultimate goal is to build a life centered on helping others, whether through his career, volunteer work, or everyday interactions.

When he's not busy with school activities, Sebastian enjoys running with friends, spending time with his cousin, and making Thursday trips to Peachwave. His favorite BK class is AP Biology, his favorite Jarboe Hall lunch is the pasta bowl, and his favorite book is One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus.

Congratulations to Claire and Sebastian on being named Bishop Kelley's August 2026 Girl and Boy of the Month!
