100 in 100 and Beyond: BK Alumni Answer the Call

June 23, 2026

What began as a goal of 100 alumni donors in 100 days became

a powerful reflection of the Bishop Kelley community.

By Gavin Walker ’17, Manager of Alumni and Constituent Relations

A Goal Met Early

“100 in 100” launched on February 3 with one clear mission: inspire 100 alumni donors to join Bishop Kelley’s Annual Fund quest over the course of 100 days. BK alumni reached that milestone on April 2, more than a month before the campaign’s May 15 conclusion.

By the end of the campaign, 157 alumni donors had contributed a total of $42,053 in support of Bishop Kelley students. Alumni from 60 graduating classes joined the effort, including 35 first-time donors. The Class of 2006 led the way with nine donors.

What started as a fundraising initiative on social media quickly gained momentum, igniting something larger: a reminder that the BK community continues to move forward together long after graduation.

Giving Back

“This school gave me a foundation for learning and growing,” said Triston Middleton ’17. “Looking back, I realize how grateful I am to have gone to this school, and I want to help those who are looking for the same opportunity.”

For many alumni, giving back is about more than financial support. It is a way to continue the journey that began during their years at Bishop Kelley and help create opportunities for the students following behind them.

“I was fortunate enough to attend Bishop Kelley for four years, and the education and experiences I gained are priceless,” said Carson Mathes ’17. “Now I believe the least I can do is help make it possible for someone else who wouldn’t normally have this opportunity.”

Funds raised through the campaign directly support student outcomes at Bishop Kelley, helping provide resources, opportunities, and support systems for current students as they prepare for what lies ahead.

A Community That Lasts

“Bishop Kelley gives its students the opportunity to build confidence, try new things, learn who they are, and grow in their faith,” said Mary Dill Krow ’09. “Giving back to BK is the best way for alumni to express their gratitude for having that opportunity.”

From gifts of $10 to gifts of $1,000s and beyond, each donation carried the same message: today’s students are supported by generations of Comets who believe in where BK students are headed next.

The campaign may have started with a goal of 100 donors. In the end, it became a celebration of the enduring connection between Bishop Kelley and its alumni community, moving forward together, one generation of Comets at a time.

Once a Comet, Always a Comet
