Welcome to the Bishop Kelley English Department!
Recognizing that AI and access to inaccurate information threaten critical thinking, the Bishop Kelley English Department encourages its students to evaluate sources and express original ideas. During their time at BK, students will read works from American, British, and world authors and will write original compositions based on topics gleaned from discussions. As a private high school, Bishop Kelley is unique in that it provides three levels of English for all grades (e.g. English 9, English 9A, and English 9 Honors); all levels are designed to prepare students for their chosen vocation upon graduation. A writing lab, manned by BK English teachers, is available four days a week to help students with class assignments, college application essays, or scholarship essays.
