Academic Bowl

This competition, sponsored by the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA), involves four-member teams that compete at the state and local levels beginning in October and ending in February. To provide competition for students of differing experience levels, Bishop Kelley belongs to the 10-team Eastern Oklahoma Academic Conference, which competes from October through January. Competition requires knowledge and quick recall. Any student may try out.

Animal Welfare Club

A friendly group that will care for animal`s welfare. This group will make visits to various Shelters in the Tulsa area. Service hours will be available with this group.

Art Club

For students who are interested in art. The club will meet monthly. They will attend gallery openings, help display student artwork in the STC, and create items to sell to the BK community.

BK Big Band Club

Big band club is a new venture! Both staff and students are welcome at this friendly club as we enjoy playing Big Band jazz music together. If you play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, clarinet especially then Coach Saunders wants to hear from you. We welcome all and any instrument to join.

Board Games Club

This club meets weekly and plays a variety of different board and card games. All are welcome to join.

Book Club

Bishop Kelley Book Club is for all students, faculty, and staff members who love talking about a good book. It will meet once a quarter in the library before school at 7:30. A book will be selected to read each quarter.  A fun and lively discussion of the book will take place at each meeting. Each readers experience of the book varies, so all opinions are encouraged and respected.  This is a time when teachers and students can mingle informally outside the classroom to share ideas about popular books. Everyone in the Bishop Kelley learning community is encouraged to join!

Bowling Club

Bishop Kelley Boys and Girls are welcome to try out for the bowling teams in the fall. Bishop Kelley is part of the Broken Arrow Conference for High School bowling. Competitions and practices are held at Broken Arrow Lanes, there is no charge and you will receive a bowling shirt for competitions. The bowling season is from December - February, ending in High School Regional Competition.

Broaden your interest and knowledge of chemistry by conducting demonstrations, lab activities, and community outreach events.

Class Boards

Each class elects twelve classmates to the board in the fall. Class boards plan social, service, and educational activities.

Comet Ambassadors

The Comet Ambassadors are trained to give tours to prospective students and families. They work as tour guides at the annual high school preview. Comet Ambassadors are open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Comets Defending Life

This club is a courageous group who defends the right to life, and thereby reflects the Catholic Church’s prolife mission to respect all human life from conception to one’s natural death. Students participate in prayer, action, and education awareness of the critical issues at stake.

Comets In Action

Want to go deeper in relationship with God, have greater love for the poor, and get your service hours in? This club is for you. Comets In Action seeks to engage students in spiritual formation, equip students with tools to become effective disciples, and practice what we learn in classrooms by helping the poor!

Creative Writing Club

Creative writing club is open to all students who want to participate in a supportive and creative environment. We will share our works and spend time focused on writing and developing ideas.

Digital Media Club/BK Comets TV

This club helps run Bishop Kelley TV and learns about video projection. They also will help produce different videos for the school. You must sign up for the class to be a member of this club.

The Dumb Ox Club/Philosophy Club

The Dumb Ox Club, named after St. Thomas Aquinas' school nickname, is a philosophy club that over the course of two academic years, will survey philosophy from the Pre-Socratics to the Moderns, as well as certain special student-chosen topics, from the perspective of the Catholic intellectual tradition. We will ideally meet once-twice monthly, with a special meeting at the end of each semester. Time and locations of meetings TBD.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Members gather regularly in fellowship. Meetings may include guest speakers, films, games, field trips or discussion of teenage problems. All students are welcome, even if they are not involved in athletics.

Investment Club

The BK Investment Club is a student led group that invests real money in the stock market. The group researches stocks and then makes group decisions as to what to invest in. The groups meets about once a month.

Jazz Choir

Musical group that provides a variety of performances for the Kelley community and competes throughout the year. One must tryout to become a member of the jazz choir.

Kelley Krazies

The Kelley Krazies promote school spirit and cooperation. Beyond supporting the athletic teams at the games, the group helps sponsor pep rallies, fall/winter homecoming activities, and a kids’ carnival in the fall.

Language Club

Bishop Kelley offers courses in Spanish, French, and Latin. Clubs associated with each of these three languages promote greater appreciation of the languages and their related cultures.

Lasallian Youth

All Kelley students are members of LaSallian Youth. Group members share in the ideals of faith, community, and service in the tradition of Saint John Baptist de la Salle. Service and retreat opportunities are available throughout the year. Lasallian Youth is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Link Crew

This group serves as mentors for the freshman class. Juniors and seniors apply to be Link Crew Leaders each spring. Link Crew sponsors a number of freshman activities through-out the school year to help make a smooth transition to high school.

Mock Trial

Mock Trial is a simulated trial-level proceeding conducted by students to understand trial rules and processes. We will compete in the Oklahoma Bar Association Mock Trial competition in the spring.

National Honor Society

This nationally chartered organization, open to juniors and seniors based on scholarship, leadership, character, and service. NHS offers peer tutoring and the hosting of blood drives. Active members earn recognition during graduation ceremonies.

This club will give students with a passion for photography a chance to display their original work and learn more about photography.

Praise and Worship Club

Praise and Worship Club is a group of students who enjoy playing and singing contemporary and traditional Praise and Worship music. Members will be invited to play and sing music at daily Masses when their classes attend.

Girls from each class form teams to practice and compete in the annual Powderpuff Football Championship.

Robotics Team

The Robotics Team promotes the advancement of the engineering sciences among students. Activities will include designing and constructing various projects that demonstrate physical principles. The Robotics Team will enter various state, regional, and national competitions.

Spectrum

In a Spectrum group, students come together to have a place where others will listen to their stories of pain, grief, and healing brought about by a death, divorce, illness, addictions or trouble with parents or siblings. The meetings are facilitated by a trained adult.

Speech and Debate

Team members participate in the NFL and OSSAA sponsored competitions in speech, drama, and debate from November through April. Participation in local tournaments can qualify team members for regional, state, and national competitions.

Sports Medicine Club

A club for students interested in sports medicine related fields, such as athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or orthopedic physician. We will talk about different fields of sports medicine what the job entails. You must sign up for the class to be a member of this club.

Student Council

This groups links students, faculty, and administration and sponsors social, educational, and service activities throughout the year. The student body elects officers in the spring. Any student may serve on Student Council.

The St. Joseph of Arimethea Pallbearer Society

The Pallbearer Society is a ministry of respect and care, presence and prayer founded to meet the Corporal Work of Mercy of burying the dead. The mission of the Pallbearer Ministry is to offer pallbearer services to small families, those in need, people who die alone, and especially the poor and the elderly. The pallbearer ministry is open to Bishop Kelley juniors and seniors. Student pallbearers gather at school to pray before going out to a funeral. They then travel to the funeral home to meet any family or friends of the deceased and to assist with prayers. The students also attend the funeral liturgy and become part of the funeral procession to the cemetery.

This is a club for students who enjoy playing different kinds of video games. This club will meet monthly to play different video games.
