Girls Cross Country Wins State Third Year in a Row

The Comets girls cross country team took their third consecutive state title the first weekendin November.

"The thought of winning three 5A State Cross Country meets has still not settled in," said coach Terry Stupp. "The girls work for months for one day and to have it come together once is awesome but for three individual groups to have it come together is amazing and a testament to the entire program commitment."

Sophomore Ella Eureste, who took the individual state title as a freshman in 2018, defended and claimed her second state win this season.

"I'm so grateful and excited that me and my team won this year at state," said Eureste. "It is really a testament to hard work and the sister-like bond we have on our team. Individually winning state is such an honor, but having my team with me makes it one hundred times better."

This marks the fifth team state title in BK girls cross country history. With only one senior (Sara Crosley) graduating in 2020, the team has high hopes for another state win next season.
