Nine Students from Class of 2017 are National Merit Finalists

Nine students from Bishop Kelley High School have been named National Merit Finalists.

"The announcement of these nine finalists is a confirmation of our strong focus on academics at Bishop Kelley," said Bishop Kelley High School President, the Reverend Brian O’Brien. “We prepare students for college and for heaven. These students are obviously ready for college and will have a lot of choices because of their hard work and dedication.”

The students’ names are as follows:

·      Jacob Liecthi – attended middle school at St. Pius X

·      Jacob Regan – attended middle school at St. Pius X

·      Andres Gonzalez – attended middle school at School of Saint Mary

Approximately 1.6 million juniors across the United States took the National Merit Qualifying Exam in 2016. The Finalists named this month represent less than 1% of all who took the exam.
