Nine Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

The National Merit Scholarship Program has recognized nine Bishop Kelley students as Finalists in the Class of 2020:

 

Sophie Ames, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;

Sabina Busch, who attended middle school at All Saints;

Ava Ernst, who attended middle school at Monte Cassino;

Andrew Henessee, who attended middle school at Centennial Middle School in Broken Arrow;

Elena Lawson, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;

David Steichen, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;

Jacob Surber, who attended middle school at All Saints;

William Thomas, who attended middle school at School of St. Mary;

and Keane Van Trease, who attended middle school at Jenks.

 

Lindsey Bandl and Marian Nguyen were named Commended Scholars.

 

Approximately 1.5 million Juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT every year. The top 3.3% are recognized as Commended Scholars, while only the top 1.25% qualify as Semifinalists. Bishop Kelley has had 66 National Merit Semifinalists in the last decade.
