I have decided after much prayer and reflection that at the conclusion of this coming school year 2020-21 I will be retiring from my teaching and tutoring here at Bishop Kelley. This year the Brothers celebrated 60 years of education at Bishop Kelley. I have been privileged to be here for 27 of those years. Over that time, I have been a Religion teacher, a Business teacher, an assistant IT person, a bus driver, and a photographer to name a few of the many jobs that I performed. As I look back over those years, I have many enjoyable memories of all my experiences as I worked alongside you.
When I started we were a traditional 6-period school day. Then we moved to the 4-block school day and lately we are learning to become some form of a hybrid distance learning virtual school. Lots of stretching, change and growth! Constantly evolving and never boring! What I am most proud of is working with the best group of Lasallian teachers, administrators, and staff. Your genuine care for our young people and their parents can be seen by your willingness to help those who are in need. Walking with our students for four years during their life journey is a privilege and a challenge that you do so well.
I am looking forward to this coming year at Bishop Kelley with all its challenges and surprises. At the end of next school year, I will be moving to another Brothers community within our Midwest District and with that change, I understand that the Christian Brothers will no longer be present at Bishop Kelley High School. I am hopeful that you will continue the Lasallian Mission here at Bishop Kelley. I know that whatever happens, I am in good hands, God’s and yours.
Live Jesus in our Hearts!
