Bishop Kelley High School has hired Marissa Kerns as head softball coach. Kerns previously served as assistant softball coach and head volleyball coach at Bacone College.
Kerns began her collegiate career at Pasadena City College playing both softball and volleyball from 2008-2010. She then transferred to Texas Wesleyan University where she continued her athletic endeavors. Kerns served as the student-assistant for both the volleyball and softball teams at Texas Wesleyan before becoming the full-time assistant volleyball coach in 2013.
Kerns graduated from Texas Wesleyan in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. In 2015, she completed her Master's degree in Sports Management from Dallas Baptist University.
Bishop Kelley High School is one of only four private schools in eastern Oklahoma to offer a softball program. “We have a unique opportunity to support young women in our region who want to play at the high school level,” commented BK Athletic Director Lance Parks. “Kerns’s coaching experience and passion for the game will provide our student athletes with a fantastic experience.”
