Placement Test Information
Bishop Kelley High School administers the HSPT (High School Placement Test) in order to determine the proper placement of incoming freshmen to Bishop Kelley. The HSPT provides measures in the major skill areas of Reading, Mathematics, Language, and Science, as well as verbal and quantitative cognitive skills. Since the test is standardized at the same time with a national population of entering high school students, the end results are directly comparable on a national level as well as local level for all test areas.
Registration and Cost
There is an online admission process for applicants. Students must submit an online application in order to register for the HSPT testing dates and the cost of the test is included in the application fee of $50.
Two HSPT's are offered. The first HSPT will be given on Saturday morning November 5, 2016 and the second is Saturday, January 7, 2017. After the January test date, placement testing is scheduled on an individual basis. Students taking the test after January 7th are placed in the second pool of applicants. Students take the HSPT only once.
The HSPT will be administered in the main building of Bishop Kelley High School.
Students should arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. The test will last until approximately 12:15 p.m. Parents are invited to attend a question and answer session from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. in the Student Commons, located in the main building.
