Eight Teams Take State in 2018-2019

Both tennis teams and the boys soccer teams took home state trophies in the 2019 spring season.

The Girls’ Tennis Team won the 2019 State Championship title. This marked the 100th athletic team state title in Bishop Kelley history. Individually, the players were successful as well. Reagan Miley ‘19 won 1 singles and Kate Miley ‘21 won 2 singles. Aly Zayat ‘19 and Lainey Lehman '20 came in 3rd in 1 doubles. Aubrey Bailey ‘21 and Bailey Wollmershauser ‘20 won 2 doubles.

The following weekend, the boys tennis and soccer teams won state as well. Matthew Gawey '19 (2x state champ) and Zac Vaughn '19 (3x state champ) are the 1 Doubles champs in tennis. This was the third consecutive state win for the boys soccer team.

Last winter, the boys swim team took home their first ever state title, a huge triumph after last year's close second-place finish.

The academic bowl team won their six consecutive state title this year and will go on to compete in nationals this summer.

In the fall sports season, the girls volleyball team were the first to win state. They have won 18 state titles in Bishop Kelley history, more than any other team. Both the girls cross country and spirit squad teams defended their titles from last year, winning state for the second year in a row.
